Moscow (USSR), the same day 7 hours later. A red and white Cessna lands in the middle of Red Square in front of Saint Basil's Cathedral. Coming off the plane, Mathias Rust, a young 19-year-old computer scientist, who has just achieved the feat of the year. He has in fact completed a journey of more than 1,000 kilometers, pushing his aircraft to the maximum of its capabilities, avoiding the Soviet MiGs who don't really like people violating their airspace with impunity.

Bertrand Brocard also achieved a feat of his kind: turning this news item into software in less than two months, hats off. We wonder which of these two exploits we will still be talking about in ten years, by the fireplace, during the long winter evenings.
