Synopsis

In Choplifter, the player assumes the role of a combat helicopter pilot. The player attempts to rescue hostages held in barracks in a territory ruled by the evil Bungeling Empire. The player must retrieve the hostages and transport them safely to the nearby US Postal Service building. The helicopter can face three directions: left, right, or forward (facing the player). It can shoot enemies in any of these directions and does not need to fly in the same direction. Forward-facing mode is primarily used for shooting at tanks. The player must be careful to protect the hostages from enemy fire and avoid hitting the hostages with their own fire.
