Synopsis

Colditz asks you to escape from the German prisoner of war camp. The screen displays a map of the level you are on. Using the cursor keys, you can move around in search of escape routes and equipment. A door that is normally closed has a German guard outside. If you show him your pass, you can enter. The other doors need keys. There are eight escape routes, the most obvious being through the sewers. When you have collected five essential items (for example, a compass), you can escape. However, trying to leave prison with the wrong gear leaves you 30 days in the cooler. This amounts to a new beginning. Of course, it's not that easy. Every once in a while a call is called, and if you get caught not showing up or you arrive with evacuation gear, you're in the cooler.
