Synopsis

Comicroad is a "life simulation" game, featuring a young girl (whom the player names herself) who dreams of becoming a manga artist. To succeed, she must not just draw well, she must develop other aspects of her personality, but also take care of her finances, otherwise working too much risks deteriorating her drawing skills. Social life, physical exercise, reading - everything has consequences!

Gameplay mainly consists of making decisions (through menu choices); There is no character navigation in the game, except for stores, which are viewed in first person. There are many ways to manage the girl's life. The player can make a schedule for an entire month or decide each day what they want to do. Each action has an effect on the heroine's parameters. For example, resting every day reduces fitness and attractiveness. Working on the manga increases the respective skills. It is possible to call friends and spend time with them, or go shopping. There are many items in the game, all of which influence the heroine's statistics in one way or another - for example clothes, drawing accessories, books, or even a PC-FX console, which can be purchased at an electronics store for around 20,000 yen.
