Synopsis

At the end of the 20th century, the fall of a meteorite near the Tiber River in Italy released an extra-terrestrial substance called Tiberium. Thanks to its unique ability to suck minerals and nutrients from the soil into crystals on the surface, Tiberium is becoming extremely sought after.

An ancient secret society known as the Brotherhood of Nod and its charismatic leader Kane seem to have foreseen these upheavals: they soon control half of the world's stock of Tiberium and use it to finance terrorism around the world.

The wave of attacks that followed pushed the United Nations Security Council to use its armed wing, the GDI (Global Defense Initiative), to stop the progression of Nod.



Command & Conquer: Tiberium Conflict released in 1995, and also known simply as "Command & Conquer", helped popularize the real-time strategy genre and define its rules.
