Synopsis

Cosmo Gang: The Video is a single-screen shoot 'em up with gameplay strongly reminiscent of Galaga, with enemies that charge towards the player and ship upgrades that can be obtained by shooting down the UFO at the top of the screen.

The Cosmo Gang are inspired by a series of characters already used by Namco the previous year for a redemption game (a type of arcade machine which distributes reward tokens when you win a rudimentary game, of which pachinko is the most popular variation). The subtitle suggests that this is their debut in the world of video games. Originally released in arcades, Cosmo Gang: The Video was later ported to Super Famicom.
