Synopsis

Crazee Rider is the spiritual successor to Superior Software's Overdrive. Originally conceived as a car racing game, it was transformed into a motorcycle racing game during development. Players must compete against opponents on various tracks, starting in 60th place. To advance, the player must finish in the top six of the pack in a single lap. Compared to Overdrive, there are more opportunities to avoid opponents, and the tracks also feature turns. Two buttons are used to accelerate or decelerate, and two others to steer. To earn bonus points, players can bump into the sides of other opponents. This doesn’t slow them down; it simply awards points. Riding directly into the back of another rider significantly slows down the player’s motorcycle. This also happens when the curb is hit while taking turns at high speed. A mini-map of the track is displayed near the top of the screen, along with the score. The current position and speed are displayed at the bottom.
