Cygnus X1
Description
In the future when Earthmen have colonised the galaxy, Cygnus star system is the most powerful of all. Intelligence suggest that the Emperor of Cygnus is planning to launch an offensive against the Earth, using it as a stepping stone to eventual Galactic rule. You have been despatched to the star system with a new fighter to attempt to return it to Earth control. You must first attack the city complex on Alpha Cygnus, disable the industrial planet of Gamma Cygnus and the power planet of Delta Cygnus before attacking the Imperial planet of Cygnus XI and the Emperor's palace. Use the Joystick to fly across the planets as you blast the defences, avoid the airborne mines and try to conserve fuel. Fuel is used up in ordinary flight, by firing your ion gun, and for shield replenishment after hitting energy towers, alien ships and mines. Fuel is acquired by flying between energy towers. Fuel tanks are refilled for every new planet (every 8 levels).
