Synopsis

Dakar 2 is a racing game which of course simulates the famous Paris-Dakar rally. Although the actual 6,000 kilometers cannot be covered in the game, the rally mode takes the player on 12 tracks, from France to Dakar. Tracks take riders through cities, forests and the desert.
Most of them are simple, but some desert tracks allow the player to ride freely and find checkpoints faster than their opponents. The player can choose from officially licensed cars, trucks and motorcycles from the 2002 Dakar, but only vehicles of the same type can participate in a race. There is also an arcade racing mode, in which all tracks and vehicles unlocked in rally mode can be selected, as well as a split-screen mode for two players.
