Synopsis

Dakar 2 is a racing game that, of course, recreates the famous Paris-Dakar Rally. Although the actual 6,000 kilometers cannot be covered in the game, the “rally” mode takes players on 12 circuits, from France all the way to Dakar. The circuits lead drivers through cities, forests, and the desert. Most are straightforward circuits, but there are desert circuits where the player can drive freely, reaching the checkpoints faster than their opponents. Players can choose from officially licensed cars, trucks, and motorcycles from the 2002 Dakar Rally, but only vehicles of the same type can compete against each other in a race. There is also an arcade race mode, in which all tracks and vehicles unlocked in rally mode can be selected, as well as a split-screen mode for two players.
