Synopsis

Dance:UK uses the standard "bemani" formula: arrows appear rhythmically on the screen and the player must press the corresponding button (on a dance mat peripheral or on the standard controller) in rhythm with these arrows and the music. Points are awarded for accuracy and bonuses for performing certain "combos" (mini-routines in a song deemed particularly difficult or long). There are initially three difficulty levels, and the player can practice to one song at a time (in Jukebox mode) or compete in the Dance:UK Championship, winning which will unlock a "Dance Recorder" mode in which players can record their own dance routines. In multiplayer mode, up to 8 players can compete in succession or 2 players can compete head to head. A karaoke mode is also provided for use with a wireless microphone while the "Aerobics" mode calculates the number of calories you have burned during the game.
