Synopsis

Dark Caves is a clone of H.E.R.O. where you play as a treasure hunter exploring the depths of the earth. Equipped with a jetpack, a short-range laser beam and a limited number of bombs, you must reach the exit before you run out of energy. Your energy gauge, displayed at the bottom of the screen, decreases over time and with each use of the jetpack or laser beam. In caves, avoid enemies, spikes and other dangers. The laser beam is used to eliminate enemies, while the bombs are used to destroy walls. If you are out of bombs, you can also use the laser beam to destroy the walls, but this uses a lot of energy. The final level features a Tetris-inspired puzzle, where you have to fill the lower part of the screen without leaving any empty space. Originally released on Magic Disk 64 in April 1994.
