Synopsis

The "Dark Fusion" of the title refers to an element of the game where, after completing a portion of the game, the player, who is a member of the elite corps of Guardian Warriors, must choose whether to merge with their defeated enemy or continue with their mortal powers alone.

The game has four levels, each divided into three zones: the combat zone, the alien zone and the flight zone.
In the combat zone, the player begins by playing as a warrior in a space suit. Scrolling to the right, there are many aliens that must be shot down or bypassed to reach the end of the level. When dying, some aliens leave behind bonuses which are essential to progress in the game.

The player must enter and kill all the aliens in two alien zones in order to complete the battle zone, then he must fight his way to the fusion pod in the flight zone to become a spaceship and fly to the next level.
