Synopsis

History of Darkwood. As with most lands, the truth about the origins of Darkwood is veiled by the myths of collective memory. It is a kingdom made up of loosely united territories, once ruled by Queen Yannah, who came from elsewhere. Since his apparent death about five years ago, the kingdom has been plagued by the evils caused by petty jealousies and power struggles. Other lands, once allies or even members of the Darkwood, have also suffered. Belynu is on the verge of war. The City-State of Sanctuaries has become inaccessible, and Maegeca is lost, simply disappeared: she is spoken of in hushed tones as if she had never been more than a legend.
