Synopsis

In The Deep, the player takes on the role of a ship that must defend itself against various underwater enemies, such as submarines or armed jellyfish. All these enemies throw missiles or mines at the ship, which the latter can dodge by moving sideways. Water bombs can be dropped to take out enemies, but there are only eight available, which recharge slowly. Sometimes a helicopter drops crates containing useful power-ups such as smart bombs, homing rockets or a speed bonus. The ship can also transform into a submarine to collect resources underwater. Each level offers a different objective: collect an orb, bomb an underwater station or destroy a powerful ship, for example.
