Synopsis

Defender is a horizontal Shooter game on the Atari VCS 2600 putting the player in control of a ship on the surface of a planet. Your mission will be to destroy enemy ships arriving on this planet. This is one of the first games to include radar. Armed with bombs and able to use hyperspace to quickly move around the planet, your ship must battle bombers, pods, swarmers, baiters and landers - capable of capturing humanoids and transforming them into deadly, relentless mutants. If you don't save the humanoids from freefall or mutant transformation, the planet is destroyed.
