Synopsis
Em Defender of the Crown, você joga como um dos quatro cavaleiros saxões da Inglaterra medieval, numa época em que o país está em crise porque o rei morreu e sua coroa foi roubada. Os saxões e os normandos acusam-se mutuamente e lutam pelo controle da Inglaterra.
Após uma breve introdução do próprio Robin de Locksley, você começa o jogo com um único castelo e 10 soldados sob seu comando. Então você deve construir seu exército, assumir o controle de territórios adicionais e lutar contra os três senhores normandos, mas às vezes também contra seus amigos saxões.
O jogo tem vários estilos diferentes: você pode participar de uma competição de justa onde você tem que derrubar seu oponente do cavalo usando uma lança, você pode atacar um castelo para saquear ou pode atacar outro território/castelo.
