Synopsis

Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiyan-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku is the final installment of the Dragon Ball series released on the Famicom. The game system again and again uses the playing cards to carry out your attacks or your movements. The only major change in this latest cartridge is the ability to boost your attacks.
This time the game does not tell the story of the DragonBall manga but an original story which will be adapted into 2 OAVs one month after the game's release (September 6, 1993). These will only be broadcast in France in 2010 in a subtitled version and have never been translated into French.
The story tells of the revenge of Dr. Raichi, of the Tsuful people, on the Saiyans (the latter having been welcomed by the Tsufuls on their planet before rebelling and exterminating all the Tsufuls). The threat first appears in the form of gas, Destron Gas, which spreads on Earth using machines that Son Goku, Vegeta, Son Gohan, Trunks and Piccolo will destroy. Then, they will deal with the ghosts, the Ghost Senshi, of Frieza, Cooler, Thales and Slug, then with Dr. Raichi himself, who, before dying, will mutate into Hatchihyakku, a formidable red monster.
