Trama

Dragon Buster is a platformer composed of several levels, each containing different stages: a cave, a tower, a castle, etc. The player's goal at each level is to reach the last stage where they face the level boss. There are often several ways to reach the final stages, and not all stages need to be visited. Equipped with a sword, the player character moves through the platform stages, clearing them of various monsters, collecting power-ups and trying to stay healthy until the level boss, because it is impossible to heal between stages. The hero's life counter (called "vitality" in the game) is the first introduction of such a feature to action games.
