Synopsis

Drain Mania is a twist on the original Mario Bros. arcade game. The player takes control of a man named Theodore who runs around a sewer system trying to get out. The game contains a number of fixed screen platforming levels where beasts named Inky, Pinky and Dinky appear from drainage pipes. To kill them, the player must first jump and cut the floor tile they are moving on to knock them out, then reach up and hit them while they are still knocked down. If the player takes too long, the beast rises again and becomes more ferocious.

Each beast has a different strength, like Dinky who must be hit three times before toppling over. Sometimes water and fireballs come out of the pipes and must be avoided. Besides hitting the beasts, the player can earn points by collecting coins. Additionally, there is a zap block that can be used to eliminate all enemies, but only three times, and there is an option to become invisible for a short time on each screen.
