Synopsis

Drain Mania is a variation on the original Mario Bros. arcade game. The player controls a man named Theodore who runs through a sewer system in an attempt to escape. The game features a number of fixed-screen platform levels where creatures named Inky, Pinky, and Dinky emerge from drainpipes. To defeat them, the player must first jump and break the floor tile they’re standing on to knock them down, then reach them and hit them while they’re still down. If the player takes too long, the creature gets back up and becomes more aggressive.

Each creature has a different strength; for example, Dinky must be hit three times before it goes down. Sometimes, water and fireballs shoot out of the pipes and must be avoided. In addition to hitting the creatures, the player can earn points by collecting coins. Furthermore, there’s a Zap Block that can be used to eliminate all enemies—but only three times—and there’s an option to become invisible for a short time on each screen.
