Synopsis

E-Type is a racing game similar to Outrun in which the player gets to drive the eponymous sports car (though without the Jaguar license). The goal of the game is to drive as far as possible before time runs out. The game features five stages that vary in difficulty and length, ranging from six to eighteen miles. Each stage has its own time limit. The tracks can be played individually or all at once. Stages are unlocked by beating the time limit in the previous race. The roads are full of obstacles, and most of them—such as rocks, trees, and bushes—must be avoided, as crashes and collisions slow the player down. Exceptions include warning triangles, which are worth points, and suicidal boys, killing whom grants the player extra time.
