Synopsis

The arcade game Tecmo's World Cup '90 was remodeled based on the 1992 European championships for its computer release. The tournament structure of the era (2 groups of 4 play each other once, top 2 advance to the semi-finals followed by a final) is recreated, with any European football nation being able to be chosen as these 8, and 1 or 2 human players choosing their team, playing via keyboard or joystick.nnnnMatches take place in a side-scrolling perspective. The ball is stuck to the player's foot, and can be kicked or passed by pressing the shoot button. The referee is quite lenient when it comes to sliding tackles, although violent contact results in a free kick.
