Synopsis

Welcome to the Evening Star, Hewson's second steam locomotive simulation. The Evening Star was one of the most powerful steam locomotives in the British railway fleet—a member of the legendary BR9F Class—hauling its passenger train through the rolling countryside of the former Somerset and Dorset Railway between Bath and Bournemouth. You’ll take on the roles of fireman and engineer. There are several levels of simulation. We suggest you read the instructions carefully and then watch the on-screen tutorial for a few minutes. Familiarize yourself with the controls, then try the practice run. Gradually, you’ll be able to improve your skills and eventually run the Evening Star to Bournemouth on schedule, using the available coal and water as efficiently as possible.
