Synopsis

Exed Exes is a vertical shoot'em up developed by Capcom. It was licensed to Memetron and released outside of Japan as Savage Bees Memetron. It uses similar hardware to '1942', but is more of a spiritual successor to Vulgus, also by Capcom.

The game is set in an alien hive, in which you must pilot your ship through levels protected by various insects, some as big as your ship or even bigger.

What made Exed Exes different from its contemporaries, aside from the high-resolution graphics for its time, and the advanced use of parallax scrolling, was the fact that it was one of the first vertical shooters to allow simultaneous two-player play. Rather than waiting until the first player has lost to take their place, two players can cooperate to advance even further in the game.
