Synopsis

F-14 features two game modes: Career Mode and Quick Mode. The latter randomly assigns eighty missions. Career mode begins with three training missions including basic flying, combat maneuvers and simulated dogfights against instructors. Good performance is necessary to progress. They also influence the pilot's call sign (favorable or unfavorable) and his final assignment. The player is assigned to the aircraft carrier Nimitz, where he will fly combat missions against Soviet fighters such as the MiG-21, MiG-25, and MiG-29, as well as American F-4s. The game is played in cockpit view, with realistic immersion. Available weaponry includes the Phoenix, AMRAAM and Sidewinder missiles, as well as the Vulcan cannon.
