Synopsis

Fantasy, developed by SNK and released in 1981 on Rock-Ola, is an action-adventure game, known for being the first to introduce a Continue system, allowing the player to continue the story rather than aiming for scoring.
The title is made up of ten narrative scenes, a record for the time, retracing Tom's quest to save Sherry, kidnapped in turn by pirates, a bird of prey, an aborigine then a helicopter.
Each scene offers a different mechanic: flying in a hot air balloon, fighting on a boat, dodging enemies, climbing a giant tree, being chased by a tiger or fleeing to Tower Bridge.
This narrative approach will have a lasting impact on the evolution of “Continue” in arcade games.
