Synopsis

Farland Story is the first in a series of successful Japanese RPG strategy games. The main hero of the game is a knight named Arc, who is in love with the beautiful priestess Ferio. One day, while Arc and his best friend Randia are out of town, a hostile army led by a mysterious black knight invades the city and kidnaps Ferio.

Thus begins Arc's quest to defeat the enemies and save his beloved from their clutches. Farland Story consists entirely of battles (except for cut scenes and the ability to make purchases if you are near a town after a battle). During battles, you move Arc and his party across the field, and attack when enemies are within range. The group is made up of different classes: knights attack with swords, archers specialize in ranged combat, priestesses heal, etc.

Every attack leads to a counterattack, both from the enemy's side and yours. You gain experience points with each attack, and you can level up in the middle of a battle.
