Synopsis

The story of Fatal Fury takes place in the fictional American town of Southtown. Riddled with crime and corruption and ruled with an iron fist by the Godfather of the local underworld Geese Howard, this city hosts each year the King of Fighters tournament, which allows the most seasoned fighters to measure themselves and then face Howard's right-hand man, the invincible Billy Kane. Brothers Terry and Andy Bogard decide to participate in the tournament in order to avenge the death of their father, martial arts expert Jeff Bogard, murdered under mysterious conditions by Geese Howard.
The main originality brought by Fatal Fury is that it allows you to fight on two different levels. The player has the possibility of moving his character from the front to the background, in particular in order to dodge the opponent's attacks. The three characters have blows that can strike from one plane to another or on both planes at the same time.
