Synopsis

Fourth part of the famous strategy game series, the action of which takes place on the continent of Jugdral, southeast of Akaneia. The first five chapters of the game follow Sigurd, Prince of Chalphy; from there, it is his son Celis who becomes the protagonist. The game takes the turn-based strategy gameplay of its predecessors, but changes the promotion system making it entirely level-based, adds RPG-like status effects, and introduces the concept of the weapon triangle, whereby the sword is stronger than the axe, the spear than the sword, and the ax than the spear. Seisen no Keifu also featured much larger maps than previous titles (although fewer in number — 12 in total) and a few new units, such as the Troubadour, the Dragonmaster, and the Falconer Knight. The game was released late in the Super Famicom's life cycle in Japan and was never released internationally.
