Firefox
Synopsis
Firefox is a first-person shooter based on the 1982 film (itself based on the 1977 novel), which revolves around an American pilot trying to steal the last Soviet prototype stealth fighter, the MiG-31 'Firefox', not to be confused with the real interceptor 'Foxhound', during the last stage of the Cold War.
The action begins with the player taking off aboard the stolen Firefox. You have the choice between three scrolls to escape (more and more long and difficult) or play endlessly. Shoot enemy MiGs, missiles, radar waves and warships - fly low to avoid detection or high to save fuel.
In addition to the footage taken from the film and displayed as cinematics, the game uses previously unreleased footage (selected from more than 20 hours filmed from helicopters flying over Greenland and Scandinavia) for the video background. Enemy aircraft and missiles are sprites superimposed on the bottom.
