Synopsis

First Strike from Elite Systems is an excellent adaptation of the Afterburner concept for C64 (1989). You pilot a heavily armed fighter jet during 8 missions taking place in different areas of operations around the world: training missions in the Gulf of Mexico, Mediterranean, Gulf, Arctic, Black Sea, Far East, Eastern Russia and Central Europe. You can choose your weaponry before each mission and during stopovers. The landscape adapts to the area of ​​operations and you can even observe the cloud cover and fly over or through it.

You start with the rank of “Recruit”. To get promoted, you must successfully complete a mission, that is, destroy the target and land safely. (Landing and takeoff are automatic; you just need to reach your destination). To reach the highest rank, you must complete all missions successfully.
