Synopsis

Simon Fletcher, a Norman knight, was granted land for his brave deeds in battle. The knight must quickly build a motte and barnyard castle to defend this land. He is given ten days to complete the work to demonstrate his authority over the conquered Saxons. The land has hills, woods and marshes and the knight must choose one of these as the site for his castle. All sites have pros and cons. There are soldiers and workers to do the job and every day the knight must assign various jobs needed to build the castle. Before starting work, the knight must decide whether to send a certain number of soldiers in search of more workers. These soldiers cannot be used for construction purposes until their safe return.
