Synopsis

Football Champ, developed by Taito in 1990, is a football game with a deliberately exaggerated tone.
The player chooses one of the eight available national teams as well as a star player, then competes against the other nations in order of increasing difficulty.
The game has become famous for its permissive mechanics: hard hits, illegal tackles and other unsportsmanlike actions can be used as long as the referee does not see it.
The sanction system is based on yellow and red cards, sometimes counted erratically.
The title also introduces a spectacular super shot, triggered at the end of a match when the team is trailing or tied, capable of sending the goalkeeper into the stands.
