Synopsis

Just like the first Fred's Back, Fred's Back II is a platform game where the player plays Fred, a creature with a disproportionate head. In each level, Fred must collect all the diamonds and then exit the level by running to the right edge of the map. Fred loses a life when his ever-decreasing energy reaches zero; he must recharge it by collecting food. He can also die by touching one of the monsters that randomly appear on the screen and falling into a bottomless pit. Levels contain brick platforms that can be destroyed by hitting Fred's head, as well as brown tiles that sometimes reveal bonuses when touched. These power-ups include extra diamonds, extra lives, potions that restore all energy, and a gun that allows Fred to shoot monsters.
