Synopsis

Fred's Back is a platform game where the player controls Fred, a waddling head-shaped creature. On each level, Fred must collect all the diamonds, then leave the level by exiting to the right. Fred loses a life if his energy, which is constantly decreasing, drops to zero; he must recharge it by collecting food. He can also die by touching one of the monsters that appear randomly on the screen, or by falling into a bottomless pit. Levels contain brick platforms that Fred can destroy by hitting them with his head, as well as brown tiles that sometimes reveal power-ups. These bonuses include extra diamonds, extra lives, potions that restore all energy, and a weapon that allows Fred to shoot monsters.
