Synopsis

Gain Ground is a one or two player shoot'em up, featuring single screen levels, in which the player must rescue soldiers before escaping.
Players can choose one of three characters, each with their own weapons, strengths and weaknesses. Time is running out, and soldiers who don't leave the level are lost. All saved soldiers join the player's ranks as bonus lives. Levels feature plains, castles, forests, forts, etc.
