Synopsis

Gauntlet II, like its predecessor, is a hack & slash set in a fantasy universe. The gameplay is very similar to the original game, allowing up to four players simultaneously. Unlike its predecessor, players can choose identical classes among the four proposed, each player being distinguished by its color.

The game introduces levels called "It" where a player who has hit an enemy attracts all the other enemies to him. To free himself from this curse, he must touch another player or take the exit. Other novelties such as ricocheting shots, acid puddles, invisible walls, false exits or walls that turn into objects or monsters when touched.

Some quests give access to a secret room containing some food and all kinds of magic potions. This opus is also the first to use the main musical theme of the series, a simplified baroque fugue.
