Synopsis

Southwest Pacific, August 1942. U.S. Marines capture the strategically important island in the first American amphibious assault of World War II, but the Battle of Guadalcanal will rage for the next six months as the Japanese attempt to retake it. .

The player takes command of air, land and naval forces, including aircraft carriers and transport ships (supply is crucial as is intelligence - patrol seaplanes and scouts are available). While many war games take into account weather and morale, this game also features malaria which slowly wears down your troops. The campaign can be played on the American or Japanese side. The interface is icon-driven and consists of a strategy map, an enlarged tactical map, and a unit details window.
