Synopsis
Hammer Away is a never-released vertical shoot'em up arcade game for the Sega System 18, developed by Santos and originally planned to be published by Sega in 1991. Introduced at the 1991 Amusement Machine Show, it appears to have never been seen since. One hypothesis is that its gameplay wouldn't have allowed Hammer Away to compete with more recent titles, including Seibu Kaihatsu's 1990 hit Raiden. A prototype has since been found.
