Hatsune Miku
Synopsis
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is a rhythm game and the fifth installment in the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series of Vocaloid rhythm games. It was also the first game in the Project Diva series to be released in the West. Like the original, the game primarily uses Vocaloids, a series of speech synthesis software, and the songs created using these vocaloids, including the virtual diva Hatsune Miku. The game maintains the same basic gameplay mechanics of the series, but with several new changes, including the addition of the "Star" symbol to the game's existing symbols: cross, circle, square, triangle, and arrows. The "Star" symbol represents the "Scratch" motion where, instead of pressing the face buttons as usual, players scrub the screen or flick the analog stick, depending on the system used. "Chance Time" has been changed from previous versions, with each successful beat filling a star-shaped gauge at the bottom left of the screen. Once filled, it triggers a final scratch symbol which, if successful, will change the outcome of the scene. Another new mechanic is the “Tech Zone” mechanic. When this happens during a song, players must maintain an uninterrupted combo within that time to get bonus points.
