Synopsis

Heavy Barrel is a run and gun arcade game by Data East, released in 1987.
Terrorists have taken control of the underground control complex of a nuclear missile site.
The player must infiltrate the base and eliminate the enemy leader. Players start armed with a laser gun with unlimited ammo and a limited number of grenades.
Upgraded weapons and power-ups are available in-game, either in plain sight or in crates that can be unlocked using keys.
The six-piece Heavy Barrel is an energy cannon capable of destroying almost any enemy with a single shot.
It can only be used for thirty seconds, after which the wielder reverts to their previous weaponry.
Ideal for defeating tough bosses, this weapon can be built multiple times during the same game.
In a two-player game, whoever collects the sixth piece is equipped with the Heavy Cannon.
