Synopsis

Heavy Barrel is a run and gun arcade game from Data East, released in 1987.
Terrorists have taken control of the underground control complex of a nuclear missile site.
The player must infiltrate the base and eliminate the enemy leader. Players start armed with a laser gun with unlimited ammunition and a limited number of grenades.
Improved weapons and bonuses are available in-game, either in plain view or in unlockable crates using keys.
The Heavy Barrel, consisting of six pieces, is an energy gun capable of destroying almost all enemies with a single shot.
It can only be used for thirty seconds, after which the wearer returns to his previous weaponry.
Ideal for defeating tough bosses, this weapon can be built several times in the same game.
In a two-player game, the one who recovers the sixth piece is equipped with the Heavy Canon.
