Synopsis

In Herby, the main character must navigate a maze consisting of over 100 single-screen rooms, connected horizontally and vertically, to find the exit. He starts with five lives and must avoid dangers and enemies, while solving numerous puzzles. He can move freely in eight directions using a joystick. The screen displays the total score, the number of lives remaining, the room number, the percentage of progress in the game and the number of keys in possession. Typical hazards are briefly disappearing barriers, moving enemies, and moving blocks. A single collision is fatal. The puzzles involve keys to open doors and items to collect. Some items have an immediate effect, while others only reveal their usefulness later.
