Synopsis

At a time when men and gods lived in harmony, two goddesses reigned over the Kingdom of Angels: Palutena, that of Light, and Medusa, that of Darkness. Palutena provides light and helps mortals with their crops; Medusa despises them, uses the darkness to destroy their crops and transforms them into stone. Furious, Palutena transformed Medusa into a hideous monster and banished her to the Dark World.
But Medusa doesn't want to let it happen. She then brings together an army of monsters and demons in order to conquer the territory of Palutena, the Palace of Heaven. War breaks out and Medusa's troops win over Palutena's; the latter is imprisoned. Medusa seizes the three Sacred Treasures: the Mirror shield, the arrow of Light and the wing of Pegasus, and entrusts them to her three best vassals.
Defeated and imprisoned, Palutena has only one hope: to obtain help from Pit, a young angel held in Hell. Using her last resources, Palutena sends Pit a magic bow. This is how the latter begins his quest to escape the Underworld, recover the Sacred Treasures which will help him beat Medusa, save Palutena and restore peace to the Kingdom of Angels.
