Synopsis

Hillsfar (or Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Hillsfar) is a role-playing video game developed by Westwood Studios and published by Strategic Simulations in 1989 for MS-DOS, Amiga, Atari ST and Commodore 64 and then ported to the NES in November 1993. Offering randomly generated quests, the game is based on the rules of Dungeons & Dragons and takes place in the Forgotten Realms universe. In total, Strategic Simulations has sold over 100,000 copies of the game.

Players have the option to create their own heroes, choose pre-drawn characters, or import their characters from other Strategic Simulations, Inc games (e.g. Pool of Radiance or Curse of the Azure Bonds). When creating a hero, the player can choose his race (dwarf, human, elf or gnome), his class (priest, warrior, wizard or thief), and his alignment. The characteristics of the new character (his strength, his intelligence, his charisma) are assigned randomly.

The game takes place in the fictional city of Hillsfar.
