Synopsis

Last Battle, known in Japan as Fist of the North Star: Legend of the New Era Savior, is a 2D side-scrolling brawler developed by Sega for the Genesis, releasing in Japan in July 1989 and North America later that month as a launch title.

In a war-torn future, wandering Jet-Kwon-Do fighter Aarzak first battles to liberate his homeland from an evil Duke before journeying to unknown lands to rescue his companion, Alyssa, from 3 invincible rebel generals.

The original Japanese version of this game is a sequel to the 1986 Sega Master System brawler, following the second half of the Fist of the North Star anime and manga. Like its predecessor, the international release was localized to remove extreme violence and direct references to the source material, though the post-apocalyptic setting and core plot remained intact.
