Synopsis

With its friendly sausage logo, Hotdog Storm is a fairly well-made vertical shooter, with some good ideas.

The player controls a very classic ship whose armament also evolves very classically using small "Ps". We also have modules with varied and interesting effects (cannons, flamethrowers, homing heads, etc.), a big shot triggered by leaving the button pressed and a particularly ineffective smart.

The graphics are overall simple but pleasant, with sprites in a sober but effective tone. The decorations are of variable quality, some are rather ugly but overall is nice.

The sound part on the other hand is very disappointing. The music is terrible, in the purest "8-bit RPG" style, and the sound effects are very light...

In terms of gameplay Hotdog Storm is quite successful, the ship reacts well, the difficulty is well balanced, with certain passages (mined ship, tricky bosses) requiring a good dose of reflexes.

A little-known little game, classic but well done, despite its filthy music.
