Synopsis

Victor Hugo could never have imagined that his character Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, would navigate an obstacle course like the one in this game, dodging fireballs and arrows while leaping over pits and pikemen—sometimes with the help of a swinging bell-pull rope— in the hope of rescuing his beloved Esmeralda from the top tower—all while being pursued slowly but steadily across the castle’s battlements by an invincible knight in full armor. Once you’ve mastered an individual obstacle, the game begins to throw them at you in tandem, until—toward the end—you’re navigating the swinging rope, the thrust of the lance, the approaching arrow, and the knight’s advance all at the same time. Succeed against all odds, and you’ll get to try again—but faster! Even an able-bodied protagonist would struggle to juggle all these threats, but the player must manage to control a person with a disability.
