Synopsis

Hyperrace is a vertical scrolling shooter with shoot'em up elements. The screen constantly scrolls in the direction you move your spaceship along the water. The game can be played solo or in pairs in split screen. You and a friend are in a space academy, and to graduate you must complete different levels by connecting a starting platform to an arrival platform. While flying, you must avoid obstacles, some of which can be destroyed with your cannon. Another ship appears and you have to avoid it. Each collision causes you to lose part of your energy gauge. When the gauge reaches the red part, the screen flashes and, once empty, the game is over for that player. The first player to reach the arrival platform wins bonus points.
